Course Introduction
This course is the core course of industrial design major. It is aimed at freshmen majoring in industrial design. It takes "visual language and form" as the leading course. The main content of this course takes the traditional culture with local characteristics as the object of investigation and study, goes deep into the local areas to excavate the creative resources of traditional culture, and provides rich cultural resources for the later design courses. The course mainly includes three parts: investigation and cognition of traditional culture with local characteristics, investigation and learning of traditional handicrafts, and design, innovation and application of traditional handicrafts. Taking the local traditional culture museum, art museum, intangible cultural heritage base and other institutions as the research context, this course will conduct in-depth interviews and skills study on the local intangible cultural heritage inheritors, and recreate the traditional culture in combination with design thinking and methods.
