It also aims to help students comprehend the historical conditions and internal driving forces of design development, such as the intricate relationships between design and production, consumption, technology, business, culture, and art. The course focuses on the history of human design, especially the major historical events that have taken place in the past 250 years, as a clue to sort out the significant impact that design has had in the process of national development. The course is divided into 10 chapters, namely: Design and Civilization, Productivity Revolution, Defining the New Aesthetics, Coming Out of the Great Depression, Shaping a New Life, Prosperity of Design, Sharp Tools of Innovation, Manufacturing to Creativity, Social Innovation, and the Future of Design.
